During this 2 hour, hands-on class Carrie will be teaching:
What is skirting and why does it matter
How to properly skirt a fleece
What mills look for in incoming fiber (strength, quality, length)
Identifying problem areas and contamination
Tips for improving processing results and yarn quality
Realistic expectation from processing
Determining best use for your fleece
And more!
Whether you’re brand new to fiber preparation or just want to improve your fleece before bringing it to a mill, this class will be a great hands-on learning opportunity. You may bring your own fleeces to skirt or use some we provide! And yes — you can drop off your orders for processing while you are here!
This class will take place TWO different times:
Thursday, June 4th from 12-2pm
Saturday, June 13th from 10-12pm
